Description
What is this course about?
This course is about art and all its meanings. Silvia, a professional Italian teacher and art lover, will take you into Leonardo Da Vinci’s world by exploring the many symbols painted in one of his masterpieces: “L’Ultima cena” or “Il Cenacolo”, the famous mural painting he painted between 1494 and the beginning of 1498 in Milan and other Da Vinci’s masterpieces. During the four online lessons you’ll have not only the opportunity to learn many curiosities about his paintings, but also the chance to give your opinion about many related issues (in Italian, of course!).
FAQ:
- Can I buy only the lessons I’m interested in?
This is a short and intensive course: only 4 lessons. Each lesson costs 15 GBP but you can only buy the entire course for 60 GBP.
- What happens if I can’t attend a lesson?
We understand participants may miss a lesson in a group course due to various reasons. In the case of short courses (consisting of only 4 lessons) participants who miss one lesson may receive a 15 GBP-coupon code as a refund for only one missed lesson. Please note that in order to qualify for the coupon, you must inform the admin team (email addressed to info[@]onlineitalianclasses.com) at least 24 hours before the lesson starts. Customers will be able to use the coupon for buying any product on the Online Italian Classes shop.
- What happens if I’m not able to inform the admin team in time?
In this scenario, you can still email the admin team (email addressed to info[@]onlineitalianclasses.com), explaining your reasons for non-attendance and ask for the coupon. The admin team will then evaluate your request at their discretion.
- What happens if the course doesn’t reach the minimum number of participants?
If the course you bought doesn’t reach the minimum number of participants, we will send you a 60-GBP coupon code, which will be valid on any product on the Online Italian Classes shop (for example, you can use it for buying a pack of one-to-one lessons and ask for an individual course about the same topic and led by the same teacher of the course).
- How do I know if my level of Italian is OK for this course?
This course is suitable for learners ranging from levels A2 (Elementary) to B1 (Intermediate), which means – despite making mistakes and encountering obstacles – you are able to follow a teacher who is speaking clear and simple Italian. Please check the CEFR self-assessment grid if you have any doubts and remember that what your teacher really needs from you – in order to make things work – is just motivation and the will to learn.

I enjoyed the Art & Co course. It was well planned and interesting. While the focus was on one famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci , Il Cenacolo – The Last Supper, we learnt and used descriptive vocabulary around art and emotions.
It was really good to have the recording and the slides of each session together with the fun homework that Silvia set us. These helped me revise what we had covered in the previous sessions.
I think some sections of the course took longer than expected – so we did overrun slightly but the time did just seem to fly by.
Being part of a small group and meeting Mary and Adriana was a pleasure.
I would join another course with Silvia.

This interesting course uses Leonardo’s Il Cenacalo to teach students how to discuss art in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Silvia presents all kinds of interesting observations about Il Cenacalo from its history to details of the painting itself, such as the food on the table. Lessons are backed up with great resources to download that allow students to revise the entire lesson both in video and written formats, and to take advantage of additional learning material. I learned a lot and feel my Italian has been enriched through this novel approach to teaching Italian to foreign students. Silvia has an engaging teaching style, she is patient and fun. I’m looking forward to her next course.

A really enjoyable and interesting way to improve your Italian. Silvia is enormously knowledgeable and supportive . You will learn a huge amount about Il Cenacolo (The Last Supper) and the historical and artistic context in which the painting was made. And you will receive lots of useful resources to support the sessions and for follow-up. I am looking forward to Caravaggio with Silvia!
