Completing the payment for one of the services selled on Online Italian Classes website (onlineitalianclasses.com) is seen as acceptance of the following terms and conditions. Please read the following information carefully. Please note in the following paragraphs the company will be identify as “the owner” or “the supplier” and the user as “the client” also.

Online Italian Classes is the commercial name of the Italian individual company owned by Barbara Bassi based in Piacenza, 29122 Italy until the end of 2021, when it is moved to the UK. The current business address is:

The activity that the owner runs is 100% online, as every service is sold and provided online. The owner can be contacted by email: info@onlineitalianclasses.com. This email is considered the official communication channel between the supplier and the client for any issue related to one of the topics explained below. Please note that checking email boxes, such as spam or promo folder is up to the client and the supplier is not responsible for it.
Services
Company offer consists of a diverse range of online services, which are treated differently according to three categories:
- Trial lessons
- Individual (or Couple) Italian classes/Open date events
- Homework in Italian
- Events (Italian Cooking Classes and Group Courses)
The purchase and the delivery of the services are not synchronous. This means users can only buy services that will be delivered in the future:
Trial lessons. All our teachers are to be considered as representatives of our school, which means the trial lesson is a chance to try the experience with the school and not with a specific teacher. The reason is also that not all the teachers may be available at the same time. This means only one trial lesson per student is allowed. Once they buy a trial lesson they are contacted by a the admin team within 6 working days: in order to be sure to receive the email, customers take responsibility for a proper check of their email box. They will have then the access to the teacher’s schedules in order to book the trial online lesson with one of them. During the booking process customers will be asked to answer to some questions in order to allow the teacher to prepare the best lesson for them. After the booking confirmation, customers and teachers will receive an email reminder including the meeting link. The meeting can be re-arranged directly from the email in case of need both by the customer-student and the teacher up to two times each and giving reasonable notice in advance. In the case customers-students don’t show up, they can be given the opportunity to book the class for another time. After this time the supplier is not responsible anymore for the delivery of the service to the customer.
Individual (or Couple) Italian classes/Open date events. Once the users buy one ore more Italian classes, they may receive an automatic email with some requests. It is reccomended that the user provides a proper response as detailed as possibile in order to facilitate the teacher’s job to arrange the first lesson. After that, the user will be contacted by a teacher within 6 working days. Teachers take responsability for the information about lessons time and place (which online platform to use) and clients take responsability for a proper check of their email box. The supplier (or a teacher on his behalf) and the client have one year for make an arrangement on dates and times when to take the lessons. The supplier/teacher will take the responsability to make at least three proposals to the client, expecting the client to give a prompt feedback. After this time the supplier is not responsible anymore for the delivery of the service to the client.
Howework in Italian. Once the users buy one of the products belonging to the cathegory which is named “homework”, the customer can immediately download the instructions and starting to use the product/service. The supplier needs to wait until the customer send the assignment, according to the instructions. The supplier is not responsible for any uncomprehension: if the customer doesn’t understand the instructions, they are responsible for making an action to solve the problem, such as contacting the owner (the email is clearly written in the instruction-page). Once the supplier receives the assigment from the customer, the supplier has 6 working days time to send it back to the customer with the corrections.
Scheduled events (Cooking classes/Group Courses). Once the users buy one or more scheduled events, they will receive an email with the information they need to participate. Customers take responsability for a proper check of their email box and for reaching the supplier to ask for help. In case the customer can’t attend the events for any reasons, please see the sections “Refund” and “Missed appointments” below.
Pricing
Services prices can be found on this website and they may vary in time according to market changes or in occasion of specific offers. During the online payment process the prices of the lessons can be automatically converted in the currency the user choose to use. This may cause a variation due to taxes or conversion rate.
Payment
Payment has to be online and can be processed in two different ways:
- with credit card
- with PayPal
Once the payment is received by the supplier, user receives a confirmation email. User will also receive a regular invoice via email within 30 days. Checking the email box (also promo and spam folder) is up to the client.
Refund
Trial lessons: Online trial lessons are not refundable as their cost is very cheap and the customer is free not to continue with more lessons. Trial lessons can be bought only once and customers can’t have a refund for any additional trial lesson bought. In case they buy more trial lessons by mistake they can send an email for asking to receive a coupon code valid on any other product sold on the OnlineItalianClasses.com website shop. They can also decide to convert that additional trial lesson in a gift card that can be used by another person. If the lesson has been already delivered but customers are not happy with the experience, they can send an email for asking to try another teacher. Customers must be aware that not all the teachers are available at the same time and their request might need to be put in the waiting list.
Individual (or Couple) Italian classes/ Open date events:
Customers can ask for a total refund for this kind of services under these conditions:
- the refund is properly asked by email addressed to info[@]onlineitalianclasses.com
- the email about the refund is sent within 6 days from the purchase
- the lessons are not occurred yet or only the first one already took place
Customers can’t ask for any refund if more than one lesson/event already took place.
Scheduled events (such as Group Courses and Cooking Classes):
Customers who bought a scheduled event such as group classes and are not able to attend it anymore can ask for a coupon under these conditions:
- the request is properly asked by email addressed to info[@]onlineitalianclasses.com
- the email about the coupon is sent within 6 days from the purchase
- the events are not occurred yet
Customers can’t ask for any refund if the event already took place.
What happens if the course doesn’t reach the minimum number of participants?
If the course a customer bought doesn’t reach the minimum number of participants, the customer will have the possibility to join an individual course about the same topic and led by the same teacher of the course or another teacher from Online Italian Classes team. In case of short courses (consisting of only 4 lessons) the customer will receive a coupon code with the value of 60 GBP in order to get 3 individual online lessons of Italian, each of 30 minutes duration, with an Italian teacher. Otherwise, the customer may choose to receive a coupon code of the value of 60 GBP which is valid on any product on the Online Italian Classes shop.
NB. For courses consisting of 8 lessons the customer will receive a coupon code with the value of 120 GBP in order to get 6 individual online lessons of Italian, each of 30 minutes duration, with an Italian teacher. Otherwise, the customer may choose to receive a coupon code of the value of 120 GBP which is valid on any product on the Online Italian Classes shop.
Homework:
Customers can ask for a refund for homework under these conditions:
- the refund is properly asked by email addressed to info[@]onlineitalianclasses.com
- the email about refund is sent within 6 days from the purchase
Customers can’t ask for any refund if homework has already been checked by a teacher and sent back to the student.
Cancellation Policy
Both teachers and students may miss or cancel one or more appointments due to many reasons.
Trial lessons. The meeting can be re-arrange directly from the reminder email in case of need both by the customer-student and the teacher up to two times each. After this time the supplier is not responsible anymore for the delivery of the service to the customer.
Individual (or Couple) Italian classes/ Open date events:
Online lessons can be cancelled up to two consecutive times per pack of lessons, with at least one day notice. The supplier will take the responsibility to reschedule the class up to three times, expecting the customer to give a prompt feedback. After that time the supplier is not responsible for the delivery of the service to the customer anymore. If the customer cancels with short notice for more than two consecutive times, the supplier may decide to consider the lesson as delivered. The previous rules apply both to the customer and to the supplier (teacher), which means if the teacher cancels with short notice for more than two consecutive times, the customer is in the right of asking to change the teacher and to receive free classes/a coupon code as a refund.
Scheduled events such as Group Courses or Cooking Classes:
Only private cooking classes can be rescheduled via e-mail up to two times per missed event.
Public cooking classes can’t be rescheduled if one or more participants miss the event. Public cooking classes can be rescheduled by the organizer due to personal or technical reasons. Only in this last case, the organizer may decide to make a refund to the clients in case he/she won’t be able to reschedule the event in a reasonable date and at a reasonable time.
Group courses work as public cooking classes as they are consider scheduled events.
What happens if a student can’t attend a lesson from a group course?
We understand participants may miss a lesson in a group course due to various reasons. In case of short courses (consisting of only 4 lessons) participants will receive a coupon with the value of 15 GBP as a refund for one missed lesson (up to two missed lessons for courses consisting of 8 lessons). Please note that in order to qualify for the coupon, they must inform the admin team (email addressed to info[@]onlineitalianclasses.com) at least 24 hours before the lesson starts. Customers will be able to use the coupon for buying any product on the Online Italian Classes shop.
Personal Data
We may collect information about you for different reasons: to provide you a regular invoice for your order, to respond to any queries which you may have, to send newsletters you have previously agreed to receive, to give you a better service by asking you a feedback on our activity through Google forms or other survey tools.

We will only use your personal information to fill the invoice we will provide you in case you will buy the product we promote on our website. We may ask you to use your email address to send you newsletters. We will never collect information about you without your explicit consent.
Please, note that in order to buy any service on the Online Italian Classes shop the customer is required to be aged 18+, which means any minor student needs the permission of a parent or legal guardian. At the time of purchase, the buyer can write the authorization for the provision of the service to a minor in the space of the notes. Our teachers may require to have a recorded call with the student parent or legal guardian before starting the online class or course with the minor and/or be provided with a written authorization.

We will only use your preference information in order to guarantee a high quality product. In this case, we will prepare lessons based on your need and provide them in the most suitable time for you.
How long we retain your data
We will retain the personal information you introduced through our contact form pages as long as you allow us. You can ask for deleting your personal data anytime, by sending us an email.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
